Abstrakt
W warunkach gospodarki rynkowej nie można nikomu zabronić wydawania książek i optymalizowania według własnych kalkulacji kosztów produkcji. Przeciwwagą tego musi być jednak konieczność liczenia się wydawnictwa i jego kooperantów z negatywną oceną finalnego produktu, jaki w efekcie oferowany jest czytelnikom. Jako jego potencjalni odbiorcy i jako społeczność fizyków mamy prawo bronić się przed „wciskaniem” nam, a zwłaszcza młodym naszym adeptom bubla (nazwijmy rzecz po imieniu) i podreperowywaniu sobie przez prywatną firmę wyników finansowych naszym kosztem. Dlatego apeluję o szerokie rozpowszechnienie w środowisku ostrzeżenia: ta pozycja jest nic nie warta! nie dajmy „robić się w konia” cwaniakom! Zainteresowanym fizyką przedstawicielom młodszych generacji mogę tylko poradzić: czytajcie samego Feynmana; jego wykłady są bardziej wartościowe (i nie takie znów trudne!), niż zdeformowane przez dwustopniowy przekład (i ewidentny brak zrozumienia tekstu przez polską tłumaczkę) popularyzatorskie wywody autora, dla tłumaczki zaś mam szczerą radę: niech zajrzy do słownika polszczyzny, co oznacza słowo „wstyd” i się zastanowi, czy dla paru groszy warto tracić reputację i robić z siebie pośmiewisko.
Abstract
In the conditions of a market economy, no one can be prohibited from publishing books and optimizing production costs according to their own calculations. However, this must be counterbalanced by the need for the publishing house and its partners to take into account the negative assessment of the final product, which is ultimately offered to readers. As its potential recipients and as a community of physicists, we have the right to defend ourselves against "pressing" on us, and especially our young adepts, a dud (let's call it a spade) and a private company repairing its financial results at our expense. Therefore, I am appealing for widespread dissemination in the environment of a warning: this item is worth nothing! let's not let the crooks "make a horse"! For those interested in physics, I can only advise the younger generations: read Feynman himself; his lectures are more valuable (and not so difficult!) than the author's popularizing arguments deformed by a two-stage translation (and the Polish translator's obvious lack of understanding of the text), and for the translator I have sincere advice: let her look into the Polish dictionary, which means the word " shame” and will consider whether it is worth losing your reputation and making yourself a laughing stock for a few pennies.
