Instytutu Fizyki Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego wraz z Zielonogórskim Oddziałem PTF zapraszają na wykład, który odbędzie się 12 listopada 2024 roku o godz. 11:15. w sali 106, bud. A-29 (I piętro) w Instytucie Fizyki Uniwersytetu Zielonogórskiego, ul. Prof. Z. Szafrana 4a. Dr Luke Mizzi z University of Modena and Reggio Emilia wygłosi wykład pt. "Auxetic Metamaterials: Fundamental Design and Implementation in Biomedical and Mechatronic Applications".
Streszczenie:
Auxetic metamaterials are a class of architectured materials which have the capability of exhibiting a negative Poisson’s ratio and other anomalous, beneficial mechanical properties which are not commonly found in nature. These characteristics make them ideal for implementation in a variety of niche applications, particularly in the fields of biomedical engineering and mechatronic devices. In this presentation, works relating to the fundamental design of novel metamaterials based on Euclidean tessellations and periodic systems will be discussed along with more applicative studies involving lightweight structures, perforated systems and composite assemblies for potential use as skin-grafts, bio-scaffolds and intelligent actuators.
